The review embargo date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been shared online. Everyone is expecting rave reviews from critics all over the globe, and we don’t have to wait too long for final impressions and verdicts to hit Metacritic.

Everything about Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 promises to live up to the ‘amazing’ and ‘spectacular’ nicknames bestowed upon Marvel’s most famous superhero mascot. The developers have confirmed difficulty settings similar to the Guardians of the Galaxy game, and leaked trophies have possibly confirmed the identities of two unannounced, but iconic, villains. We have a few more weeks to wait until the sequel’s release date, but the review embargo will end sooner than many fans would think.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 review embargo date

The end date for the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 review embargo is October 16th.

This was revealed on Twitter by Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards presenter, Geoff Keighley. They have shared that they will post their final impressions at 07:00 PDT, 10:00 EST, and 15:00 BST.

Insomniac’s original Marvel’s Spider-Man has an 87 on Metacritic with Miles Morales boasting an 85. Batman Arkham City is currently the highest-rated superhero video game with a 96, and Batman Arkham Asylum has a 91.

In order to topple Arkham City as the greatest superhero video game, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will need to get a 97. Fortunately, anything is possible as everything about the sequel looks bigger and better except for maybe the divisive Peter and MJ face models.
