Insomniac has shared the accessibility settings for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. The most exciting part of these accessibility settings is that they include difficulty sliders as previously seen in the brilliant and underappreciated Guardians of the Galaxy game.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is very quickly approaching for everyone lucky enough to own a PS5. The developer has already started teasing Spider-Man 3, but in just a few more weeks we will all be able to web-sling and glide around New York as Spider chums, Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Of course, thanks to New York being second to only Gotham City in crime rate, you will need to take time out of your web-slinging to beat up baddies. And, thanks to the inclusion of difficulty sliders, you can make this as easy or brutal as you desire.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has difficulty sliders
Insomniac has revealed difficulty sliders as part of their accessibility settings for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.
One of the best options modern video games can include is difficulty sliders. Two of the most famous examples are Guardians of the Galaxy and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
In fellow Marvel IP Guardians of the Galaxy, players could make the game as easy or hard as possible. This included being able to make enemies die in one hit as well as yourself if you wanted to go for ultra-realism.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is obviously very different from Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Guardians of the Galaxy, but the included difficulty sliders will allow you to change the following:
- Enemy health
- Enemy damage
- Stealth awareness
In theory, this should allow fans to play on the hardest difficulty possible without enemies feeling like SpongeBob. The accessibility settings show that you will also be able to ‘simplify puzzles,’ and we also know that fall damage is an option that has split opinions among fans.
The release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PlayStation is October 20th. Only a few rogues have been confirmed so far, but leaked trophies possibly reveal two new villains in the game.
