The heavily anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set to arrive in less than a month. And, before its launch, fans are massively divided over the face models with some believing the model for Peter and Mary Jane look worse than their original selves back on the PS4.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the Insomniac’s first Marvel-licensed adventure in 2018. It stars two Spider-Men instead of just one, and you will be able to web-sling and fly around New York as both Peter and Miles. The characters, environments, and villains look amazing as you’d expect from it being exclusive to PS5, but not all fans are happy with the face models for Peter Parker and MJ.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Peter Parker face model
The face model for Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is Ben Jordan.
This is easily the most divisive face model in the game. Insomniac’s original face model for Peter Parker in 2018 was John Bubniac, but he was replaced by Jordan in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered in 2021.
Ben Jordan is a model represented by New York models. He has mentioned on his Instagram that he is ‘honored’ to be the face of Peter Parker in the Insomniac series.

Unfortunately, the face change is very divisive among fans. Many believe Ben Jordan’s face looks too young, and many simply prefer the original look.
However, just as there are people who don’t like the new face there are people who prefer it.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Mary Jane face model
The face model for Mary Jane in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is Stephanie Tyler Jones.
She was the face model for MJ in the original installment, and she reprises her role in the sequel. Many fans believed the face was changed, but Insomniac’s community manager has confirmed it’s the same model.
Even though Mary Jane is based on the same woman, there are still fans divided about her new look. Many people have pointed out that she looks different because she has a new haircut and has naturally aged. Others have put it down to better face capture, too.
Others are not impressed. Some feel Insomniac are not the best when it comes to face models, while some feel both the new MJ and Peter look worse than before.
Whether you prefer the old or new, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 still looks fantastic. Many fans are also divided over the addition of fall damage, but the good news is that this is optional.
