This is Yuri Lowenthal’s Mortal Kombat video game debut as his only other role in the series was as Kobra in the animated film, Snow Blind. As a playable character amongst the MK1 roster, Smoke is affiliated with the Lin Kuei alongside Scorpion and Sub Zero.
At the beginning of the game’s stellar story, Smoke and the rest of the Lin Kuei assault heroes Raiden and Kung Lao. They even attack the precious Madame Bo.
However, the ruse is quickly uncovered as the Lin Kuei are protectors of Earthrealm testing Raiden and Kung Lao for Fire God Liu Kang.

Yuri Lowenthal is a video game voice actor most famous for his portrayal of Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man.
He was the voice of Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man and Miles Morales, and he is reprising his leading role in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. He even made a cameo in Across the Spider-Verse as ‘Insomniac Spider-Man’.
His other most famous video game role is the Prince in the Prince of Persia Sands of Time trilogy. He is also best friend Yosuke Hanamura in Persona 4.

Away from the world of video games, he is a prominent voice in anime. He is Sasuke Uchiha in the American dubbing for Naruto, and he is also Yuuta Takemoto in Honey and Clover.

Mortal Kombat 1 is now available on PlayStation, PC, and Xbox in early access format. There is no crossplay at launch, but it is coming in the future.
It has a stacked roster at launch, but there are a few missing names. Badass Cassie Cage cosplay has fans especially missing Johnny’s daughter, but her absence makes sense because of the soft reboot timeline.
