After a week of EA Sports FC 24 being out, there have been five squad-building challenge players released, but are they worth it?
With EA Sports FC 24 being out on early access, on PlayStation and Xbox, via EA Play trial this past week, players have been creating their Ultimate Teams. As well as packing players and buying them off the transfer market, there is always the option to do SBCs to earn players. These require a team or two of players who complete a set of criteria. Are the players released so far worth completing?
1. Kevin De Bruyne (Flashback)
Requirements:
- 86-rated squad with 1 Manchester City player
- 87-rated squad with 1 Premier League player
The first SBC player of the year was a flashback De Bruyne which is a fantastic card. As a midfielder, paired with a more defensive-minded player, would be a great option. At the early stage of the game sinking your coins into his card may not be the best idea, however. If you have the fodder to use, then go for it.

2. James Maddison (Premier League Player of the Month)
Requirements:
- 83-rated squad with 1 English player
- 85-rated squad with 1 Premier League player
The August Premier League player of the month comes in with a good-looking card. With great passing, dribbling, and shooting that has been added to by a set piece PlayStyle+, he is a great starter option. With objectives and foundation SBCs, most players will have fodder to help them on their way.
Cost: 27,000 coins
Verdict: WORTH IT
3. Chuba Akpom (Squad Foundations)
Requirements:
- 86-rated squad
- 84-rated squad with 1 English player
This is a good striker card. 90 pace, 85 shooting, and 86 physical will make him pretty formidable in game. His links may prove to be a bit of an issue although, with the squad foundation objectives, it might become more likely.
Cost: 51,000 coins
Verdict: NOT WORTH IT
4. Estefania Banini (Squad Foundations)
Requirements:
- 84-rated squad
- 85-rated squad
A very good center midfielder card, especially if you give her a chemistry style to boost those defending and physical stats. Great dribbling, passing, and shooting stats supplemented by great skill moves and weak foot. Links may be hard but not impossible.
Cost: 29,000 coins
Verdict: WORTH IT
5. Victor Boniface (Bundesliga Player of the Month)
Requirements:
- 83-rated squad with 1 Bundesliga player and 1 85+ rated player
Considering he has started the game as a silver card, this is quite the upgrade. With good pace and shooting, added to by amazing physical, he could be deadly. When it comes to a target man to cross to, there may be no better option for the price.
Cost: 10,000 coins
Verdict: WORTH IT
