The first promotion of the year in EA Sports FC 24 has been leaked before release as the players were added into concept squads.
With the release of EA Sports FC 24 standard edition on PlayStation and Xbox, follows the first promotional players of the year. The Road to the Knockouts revolves around European competition, with cards of the Champions, Europa, and Conference Leagues. These cards will receive upgrades based on certain criteria. If the player’s club wins two matches in their group, they will get a plus one. This will be increased by a further plus one overall if the club qualifies for the knockout stages. Let’s take a look at the first set of cards that have been placed into concepts
1. Erling Haaland
The cover star, the best striker in the world, he was bound to get a special card. With his normal gold card impossible to defend against as it is, this one is going to be scary. With Manchester City almost definitely going to win two games, he is a dead cert for an upgrade or two.

2. Bruno Fernandes
A very well-rounded card. His normal card is good but can be said to lack some pace, this card improves on that. With 76 paces and 71 defending, the addition of a shadow chemistry style could make this guy one of the best box-to-box midfielders in the game.

3. Victor Osimhen
His normal card is unstoppable so this card having the potential to upgrade further is not a happy sight for defenders. With great pace and shooting, added to by his strength and dribbling, good luck not conceding to this man.

4. Bukayo Saka
Arsenal won their first game 4-0 so this card is already well on its way to at least one upgrade. His normal card is good but this upgrade, with more to come, makes him arguably the best winger option in the Premier League.

5. Edin Dzeko
Not the most glamorous-looking card, nor does he have great links. With that being said, crossing in this game can be very efficient and Dzeko is one of the best in that business. With a good pace upgrade, this isn’t the worst card for early on.

6. Leonardo Bonucci
What a card by the way. The complaint with Bouncci has always been his pace, but that is no more with an increase to 75. With his usual top defending stats he has become a very desirable card. Now with Bundesliga links, he could be a great player for a while in EA FC 24.

7. Dries Mertens
A man who was always known for his pace, 82 isn’t what fans have come to think of Mertens. With 88 dribbling and 86 shooting he is still a useful player but like Dzeko, doesn’t have many great players to link to, although Belgium links may just save him.

8. Luis Diaz
The first Europa League item on the list, and what a card it is. 93 pace and 90 dribbling, say no more. Diaz on the ball, heavy touch past a defender, he’s going to be frightening. With great links to the Premier League, this card will cost a pretty penny.

9. Rodrigo De Paul
So close to a Gullit Gang card, just three defending off. With a chemistry style, he’ll be there and be a very desirable card. Sitting at an 86 overall it is likely there will be a good number on the market and his price will likely stay low given his card.

10. Lois Openda
If you have played this guy’s normal card at the start of the game you’re probably not going to want to know this. Openda is already one win away from an upgrade and is looking likely to progress to the next round and get his second. His frightening pace is only going to get better it seems.

There are an additional seven cards which are all under 85 overall. These are:
- Konrad Laimer
- Pierre Kalulu
- Dodo
- Pedro Goncalves
- Mats Wieffer
- Deiver Machado
- Kiliann Sildillia
