The release dates schedule for video games in October 2023 is massive. There’s everything from superheroes to Dark Souls wannabes, and there’s also the biggest horror game of the year coming out just in time for Halloween.
There’s lots to anticipate for PlayStation and Xbox loyalists next month. The Xbox Game Pass October 2023 releases include more day-one additions for major Xbox exclusives, meanwhile, PS Plus Essential subscribers are getting Dead Space successor, The Callisto Protocol. While there are enough freebies to enjoy next month for subscribers of either service, the bad and good news is that you will also be spending lots of money on massive releases.

Although the above selection is jam-packed, one of the standout games away from Mario and Spider-Man is the biggest horror game of the year.

Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2 is the biggest horror game of the year, and its October 2023 release date is perfect for fans wanting something new and spooky to enjoy on Halloween.
It has survival horror elements borrowed from the Resident Evil series, and it’s said to be Remedy’s scariest video game yet. It’s also absolutely perfect for fans of horror author Stephen King because of clear influences in the story and main character, Alan Wake.
While the original game only starred its namesake, this time you will step into the shoes of Alan and a new pawn in the plot named Saga Anderson. Rather than an abundance of cheap jump scares and horror tropes, expect a creepy and intense narrative that is full of mind-breaking twists, turns, and fourth-wall-breaking.
Alan Wake 2 is coming out on October 27th for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. It is restricted to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles only, and on PC it is exclusive to the Epic Games store.
Alone In The Dark was originally intended for October 25th, but it has been delayed to January 2024. Fortunately, October is still stuffed with Assassin’s Creed Morage, Forza Motorsport, Lords of the Fallen, Mario Bros, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, hockey, and Snake.
