Sony is set to reveal the free games for PS Plus in October 2023. Of course, next month belongs to all things wicked and spooky, so it’s only natural that predictions from fans are mostly horror games.
October 2023 is jam-packed with amazing games for PlayStation users. There’s the release date for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Assassin’s Creed returns to its roots with Mirage, and the long-anticipated Alan Wake 2 becomes reality. Dark Souls fans have Lords of the Fallen to satisfy their quench for death, and betas begin for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. All of these releases are exciting, but here’s hoping Sony also treats us to some excellent free games for PS Plus.
PS Plus October 2023 free games reveal date
The PS Plus October 2023 free games will be revealed on September 27th.
Sony always announces the next batch of freebies on the final Wednesday before release. Sony’s PS Plus monthly games blog post for September 2023 confirms that the next batch of freebies launch on October 3rd.
Before the month of ghosts and monsters arrives, make sure to claim the current PS Plus Essentials while they remain free. These current freebies are Saints Row, Black Desert Traveler Edition, and Generation Zero.
Saints Row is the most infamous among the selection as it caused the death of developer Volition. Meanwhile, Black Desert is a gorgeous MMORPG, and Generation Zero is a unique open-world war game set in 1980s Sweden.

PS Plus October 2023 predictions
There are lots of predictions for PS Plus October 2023 on Reddit.
As you’d expect, most of the predictions part of the monthly tournament are horror games. There are lots of guesses for Resident Evil, as well as Dying Light 2 and Callisto Protocol.
Little Nightmares 2 is another popular prediction, and there are also guesses for Madison and Visage. Either Madison or Visage would be great as they’re lesser-known horror masterpieces that would be perfect for playing on Halloween.
The Quarry is another horror prediction because it is leaving Extra. Aside from horror games, WWE 2K23 is a recurring name, and so is Sifu as fans feel it eventually has to happen.
Of course, predicting the exact games is nearly impossible. Most fans are simply hoping that Sony will justify the recent price increase for all tiers.
