The Tomb Raider anime was briefly revealed during the Netflix Drop 01 livestream. It shows a brand new look for Miss Lara Croft, and the voice actor is a Hollywood icon seen in many Marvel films as well as the newest Mission Impossible.
It’s been a great few months for Tomb Raider fans. Aside from the Netflix anime, Lara Croft has recently joined Call of Duty with a skin that resembles a former adult film actress. The recent Nintendo Direct also confirmed a remastered trilogy of Tomb Raider 1-3, and there’s a real possibility the new in-development installment from Crystal Dynamics will be revealed later this year. England’s leading lady has a really exciting set of video games to come out, but we’re equally stoked for her first anime where her voice actor is a famous celebrity from the land of Hollywood.
Who is the Lara Croft voice actor in the Tomb Raider Netflix anime?
The voice actor for Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider Netflix anime is Hayley Atwell.
Hayley Atwell was cast as the voice actress for Lara Croft back in 2021. If you don’t recognize her by name, you may recognize Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter from Marvel.
For Marvel, she appeared as Peggy Carter predominantly in the Captain America movies. However, she she was also in Ant-Man, Avengers Endgame, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the Disney Plus series, What If?.
Aside from Marvel, her biggest most recent role was as co-star alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One. There she played professional thief Grace in a performance where she got to hang onto Tom Cruise for dear life while the pair of them dangled from a train similar to the opening of Uncharted 2.
Hayley Atwell was not the voice of Lara Croft in the survivor trilogy as that honor belonged to Camilla Ludington. It’s surprising Camilla isn’t reprising her role seeing as the anime continues the survivor saga after Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but Hayley Atwell is an A-list replacement.
Tomb Raider Netflix anime voice actors
In addition to Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft, other voice actors in the Tomb Raider Netflix anime include Earl Baylon as Jonah.
Earl Baylon is reprising his role as Jonah from the Survivor trilogy. This means he was the character in Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Jonah isn’t the only returning sidekick. The Netflix anime also brings back Zip and this time he is voiced by actor Allen Maldonado.
Allen Maldonado is predominantly known for his role in the Starz wrestling series, Heels. He was a part of the show for two years as Rooster Robbins.
The original voice actor for Zip in Tomb Raider Legend and Underworld was Alex Desert. We haven’t seen Zip for over a decade, so it will be interesting to see how he is introduced to Lara Croft following the events of Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
Away from the Netflix series, the Tomb Raider remastered trilogy is coming out for PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch on February 14th.
