Bank robbing simulator Payday 3 is finally here in early access format across PS5, Xbox, and PC. And, no matter the system, you can bank millions of dollars with friends in cross platform multiplayer thanks to the support of crossplay.
Payday 3 is really exciting. The early access release time is imminent, and it is available in just a few days to play for free on Xbox Game Pass. It’s the perfect multiplayer experience thanks to the sheer carnage and chaos combined with teamwork. It is available on multiple platforms, and crossplay allows friends to team up no matter which console or PC.
Is Payday 3 crossplay?
Yes, Payday 3 is cross-play.
The official FAQ says that Payday 3 ‘supports crossplay multiplayer with all supported platforms’. This means the game’s cross-platform multiplayer works across PlayStation, PC, and Xbox.
Alas, the game is restricted to current-gen only, meaning it is not on PS4 or Xbox One, and is only on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. In regard to PC, the third instalment is on Steam and Epic Games.
There is also cross-progression. This means you can carry your progress between each platform so, if you prefer Xbox but occasionally play on PS5, you can transfer your profile on Xbox to PlayStation.

How does Payday 3 cross-platform multiplayer work?
Payday 3 Multiplayer is an online co-op between four people.
Because of cross-platform multiplayer, you can invite and team up with friends regardless of the system. The gist of the game’s multiplayer is to perform heists and rob New York of cash, gold, and jewellery.
The fun stems from all of the creative options available. There are dozens of different approaches to every heist, and some of them are flawless while others involve war with the police.
There is a single-player mode, but, unfortunately, the game requires an online connection at all times. So, even if you wish to play alone, you must be connected to the internet.
While Payday 3 early access is here, it joins Xbox Game Pass for free on September 21st. September has already been a fantastic month for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, and, in addition to Payday 3, the release date for Lies of P on Game Pass is imminent, too.
