EA Sports FC 24 has been out for a few weeks now, but fans are starting to become angry with some of the new content.
There have been numerous Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) released so far into EA’s new ‘FIFA‘ title, with week two bringing some bangers… but definitely also some clangers. One that appears to have riled up fans of the franchise has to be the David Beckham Icon SBC.
EA capitalized on the media hype surrounding Becks amid his new Netflix documentary by releasing his base card into the SBC section of Ultimate Team.
But fans aren’t happy, for one big collective reason.

Fans are not happy with the David Beckham SBC IN EAFC 24
EA released an 88-rated David Beckham Icon SBC into the game on Sunday night.
Beckham is the first Icon EA have decided to release as an SBC, but if the requirements are going to be similar going forward – it’s going to spell trouble for fans.
’10 Squads might be the biggest joke so far. A new low point,’ one fan writes under FutSheriff‘s post.
’10 squads hell no’ and ’10 squads…,’ two more fume.
“Just sold my kidney, let’s get him done,” a more light-hearted fan wrote.
This is pretty insane for a card of Beckham’s stature. Ten squads will completely rinse all fodder accumulated from clubs – and it’s only been two weeks.
A different perspective
You could also argue the fact that after two weeks, a card like this shouldn’t be so easily attainable.
However, this is somewhat contradicted by EA dishing out special packs left right, and centre though.
It’s not been the best start to the new game. The market is already in bits and fans are already starting to get frustrated with the Canadian company’s antics.
We sincerely hope this isn’t a sign of things to come.
