EA Sports FC 24 is here and of course manager career mode is back, as always there is a decision to be had of who to start with.

If you purchased the Ultimate Edition on Playstation or Xbox, you will be able to get on the game at the time of writing. With several new features being added to EA Sports FC 24 this year, career mode is as anticipated as it ever has been. In terms of choosing a club, it is a unique decision, but the question is who should you make your first save with?

1. Wrexham

A pretty obvious choice given all the hype around them right now. Although Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny aren’t in the game, but taking control of their team is an interesting prospect. The Welsh side are new in League Two and have expectations to be challenging for the title.

With star players like Paul Mullin and Elliot Lee, there is a good team in front of you when you begin the save and a decent budget given the level the club is at.

With just over £3 million in transfer budget at the beginning of your save, there is wiggle room for some signings. The challenge here is to see how far you can take the Red Dragons, with the Premier League in their sights moving forward

2. Luton Town

The surprise package of last season, Luton finds themselves in the Premier League for the first time and will make a difficult, but interesting save on EA FC. They have made plenty of new and exciting signings which will be fun to play with.

Despite making these signings and having a packed-out squad, there is a budget of just under £20 million to spend on fresh faces. The goal with this team will be to keep them in the league and see where you can build up to from there.

3. FC St Pauli

A different option than going for an English team, going to the German second tier is another interesting option. St Pauli is one of the best-supported teams in Germany and has finally had their stadium added to the game.

With a £7 million transfer budget, there is money available to make some decent signings and with low expectations in everything but domestically, there is room to be flexible when it comes to transfers and academy work.

4. Bordeaux

A fallen giant of French football, Bordeaux find themselves in Ligue 2, and in real life they appear to be struggling. In the game, they have high expectations of domestic success in the second division and achieving promotion would just be the start.

With a £7 million budget, you are able to make signings to improve the starting team and increase your chances of promotion. The prospect of moving up the league and challenging the likes of PSG is an exciting one.

5. Chelsea

This is a very different option from the others. Chelsea have just spent a billion pounds and have a sizable squad. They are faltering in real life but the challenge of taking this young squad to Premier League and Champions League success.

With £140 million as a transfer budget, there is plenty of room for even more transfers but the true challenge here is taking the existing team and taking it to glory. It may not be as much of a challenge as others on this list but will be enjoyable nonetheless.
