EA Sports FC 24 is just days away and as always manager career mode is back. Let’s take a look at some new and improved features.
EA Sports FC 24 releases this week for Ultimate Edition buyers, on Playstation and Xbox, and if Ultimate Team isn’t your bag, you should give career mode a try. Manager career mode allows players to feel like the boss of a club, be it your favorite club, a struggling team, or even one of the best, the choice is yours. Your team becomes unique to you, making signings of your choice as well as inclusions from your youth academy. Through training and playing matches, players’ ratings increase and you can build up to being a top team. Every year new features are added to the mode, but what has been added this year?
EA Sports FC 24 – Total Management System
This new system is made up of multiple different facets which add to the experience, and allow you to feel more like a manager.
The first part is the tactical vision that you want to play. Typically you would only be able to select your formation and then individual player instructions.
Now you are able to select from a list of play styles:
- Standard
- Wing play
- Tiki-Taka
- Counter-attack
- Gegenpress
- Kick and rush
- Park the Bus
When selected, these different tactical approaches will affect how your team plays in the game. This allows you to have control over your team in an easier way than in previous years. These styles each have pillars that can’t be changed, this is what makes each philosophy unique.
With these play styles, you are also able to search for players who fit your style of football more closely. ‘Tactical fit’ now features on the player search page and allows you to alter your search depending on which style you play.
There are also now coaches in career mode which will allow you to play your style of football to a higher level. They will improve your club’s tactical knowledge and player development over the time they are at the club.
Pre-Match Preparations
This is a feature that allows you to prepare for your next match by sizing up your opponents and altering your team accordingly. This is done to replicate all the work that real-world managers do in preparation for games.
Before every game you play, you will be given a pre-match report which will outline several things:
- Their probable lineup
- The tactical vision
- Form over the last five matches
- Key defensive and attacking players

With all this knowledge, you are able to switch up your team to be best equipped. Alongside this, you can also change your pre-match training routine which will unlock temporary PlayStyles for players. This match-ready training allows you to select a drill depending on which attributes you want to be improved.
Tactical View
This feature is a lot simpler, this allows players to sim a match while spectating as was a community request. This allows you to cycle through different angles and watch the game while not having to play the match yourself.
The headline addition, when it comes to this feature, is the option to spectate the match from the touchline from a manager’s viewpoint.

This new camera angle, paired with several more that have been added, such as in the goal or a birdseye view, allows for a totally new experience. If you feel it necessary, you always have the option to jump in and take control if it isn’t going well.
On the flip side of this, the game might be a breeze and if you want it over with, you can still jump to the result and end the game quickly. Some interesting new features add to the realism element of the game as you attempt to take your team to the top.
