Fans hope for an April Nintendo Direct, but there’s still a lot to be excited about from the last Direct.
The February Nintendo Direct Zelda Remake capped off the broadcast. The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening will come to the Nintendo Switch in remastered form.
But could there be even more Zelda news this year? Rumors point at a brand new title- perhaps a follow-up to Breath of the Wild. Here’s more on the Nintendo Direct Zelda remake and what else to look forward to.

Nintendo Direct Zelda Remake
The Zelda remake everyone’s looking forward to right now is The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for Switch.
Link’s Awakening was originally released for the Game Boy in 1993. While it never got the same hype as titles such as Ocarina of Time for the N64, it became a cult classic amongst Zelda fans.
Now, it’ll come back to the Switch with updated graphics and music. It looks just as fun as ever and will give fans another chance to play the classic game.
Link’s Awakening Switch Release Date
When will The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Switch be available to play? Unfortunately, Nintendo didn’t reveal an official release date.
With that said, they did make it clear the game would come out in 2019. The game looks fairly complete from the trailer, so it could even be sooner rather than later.
Meanwhile, the Zelda x Crypt of the Necrodancer collaboration, Cadence of Hyrule will also come out in 2019.

There could also be a brand new Zelda on the horizon.
Breath of the Wild Sequel Incoming?
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is one of the biggest games for the Nintendo Switch. But will the game get a big follow-up?
A job posting from Nintendo suggests a Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel is likely. Nintendo currently seeks dungeon designers, which means the game would only start going into development later this year.
It’d probably take at least a couple of years to see the finished results. But, if we’re lucky, we may hear details soon.
