Rumors are heating up for an April Nintendo Direct, and there’s a lot of games it could cover.

One of the biggest Switch releases set for 2019 is the new Animal Crossing for Switch. Could we get a Nintendo Direct Animal Crossing broadcast?

Of course, the Super Smash Bros Ultimate 3.0 Spring Update is due for this April. Plus, with a leak for Joker’s render, it could be sooner rather than later.

There are also many other big games an April Nintendo Direct could cover, including a new Zelda and Pokémon Sword and Shield. Here’s what we might see in a new Nintendo Direct for April 2019.

Nintendo Direct: Animal Crossing?

One of the big games coming to Switch in 2019 is a new Animal Crossing title.

This was confirmed along with Isabelle’s reveal for Super Smash Bros Ultimate all the way back in the September Nintendo Direct. Since then, we’ve had no news on an Animal Crossing Switch release date or even an official title.

With a recent Direct broadcast specifically for Pokémon Sword and Shield, it isn’t out of the question we could get a Nintendo Direct Animal Crossing broadcast.

Nintendo Direct: New Zelda?

Recent rumors also suggest that Nintendo is hiring for the next Legend of Zelda. The company is currently seeking designers for new levels and dungeons, which would fit in with a new Zelda title.

Link’s Awakening and Cadence of Hyrule are already set for release this month, which means a brand new game will soon go under development.

Not much is known yet, but it could be a follow-up to top Switch game Breath of the Wild. Fingers crossed we’ll get some news.

Pokémon Sword and Shield News?

While the Pokémon Direct gave us a teaser into the new starter Pokémon and the world of Pokémon Sword and Shield, there’s still a lot to cover.

If there is an April Nintendo Direct, it could go into details on new Pokémon, legendaries, and new gameplay aspects which haven’t been revealed.

As one of Nintendo’s key franchises, the more hype there is for the game, the better.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection for Switch?

Another interesting Nintendo Switch rumor is that Halo: The Master Chief Collection could come to the Nintendo Switch.

As a Microsoft title, this would be a groundbreaking announcement.

However, a comment from reputable leaker KingZell on the ResetEra forums suggests an upcoming Nintendo announcement is “like seeing Mario in a PlayStation console.”

Many believe this to be The Master Chief Collection considering the close proximity of its Steam release.

While this is all just speculation right now, an April Nintendo Direct is seeming more and more likely. Look out for an announcement within the next couple of weeks.
