The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are two of the biggest and most beloved video games of all time. It’s a shame we never got a cameo from Ciri in Night City, but some bewitching cosplay turns the fantasy into reality.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an incredibly ambitious sci-fi RPG full of familiar faces. Keanu Reeves is the Hollywood star of the main story, and his act is followed up by the legendary Idris Elba. While fans understandably love the crossover with Hollywood, many were also expecting a crossover with The Witcher 3 because of one particular scene. Although the desired cameo never happened, fans have managed to bring the idea of Ciri in Night City to life.
Is Ciri in Cyberpunk 2077?
There is no cameo from Ciri in Cyberpunk 2077.
She is technically in the game as cover art for a magazine, and this magazine can be seen at the beginning of the Corpo lifepath. After getting your orders and dirty money from Jenkins, you can return to your desk to check your emails.
At this desk, you can also open your drawer and that’s where you will find Ciri on the cover of a magazine. This acknowledges the existence of The Witcher 3 in a cute easter egg, but it’s not what fans wanted.
In The Witcher 3, when Geralt finally finds Ciri, she tells him about all the worlds she’s visited through her powers. During this conversation, she mentions a world where ‘people there had metal in their heads,’ and where ‘there were no horses, everyone had their own flying ship instead’.
Although Night City isn’t specifically named, many fans believed this implies Ciri traveled to the world of Cyberpunk 2077. There were hopes that Geralt’s daughter would make a cameo in the game, but, sadly, it never happened.
Cyberpunk 2077 Ciri cosplay
Although there is no cameo from Ciri in Cyberpunk 2077, there is however this amazing cosplay to feast your eyes on.
Cosplayer Irina Meier uploaded a video onto her YouTube channel showing her cosplaying as Ciri inspired by Cyberpunk 2077. Many fans in the comments were full of praise for the cosplay with comments such as ‘the lighting and whole look rocks,’ as well as ‘Someone has to call Netflix office… We found the perfect Ciri’.
It’s simply a look at what could’ve been. Irinia also cosplayed as her very own version of female V, and her Instagram is full of incredibly well-done photoshoots as dozens of video game characters such as Triss and Yennifer from The Witcher 3, as well as Panam from Cyberpunk 2077.
She’s also cosplayed Tifa from Final Fantasy VII, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, and Lara Croft from the never-ending Tomb Raider series.
Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. There are no new romance options, but thankfully mods exist for PC.
The post-launch expansion adds Idris Elba, but there’s also the addition of a former adult film actress who resembles Lara Croft in Call of Duty.
