The review embargo date for the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC has been revealed. Not only has it been shared online, but it’s also extremely encouraging for fans who are not convinced about purchasing the expansion.
Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the most controversial video games of all time back in 2020. It performed terribly, it was insulting on last-gen consoles, and fans were miffed about cut content. However, since its launch, CD Projekt Red has fixed their errors, and added free content, and the game’s reception is now positive rather than hostile. The exciting Phantom Liberty DLC is just over the horizon, and the review embargo lifts nearly a week before its release date.
When does the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty review embargo end?
The end date for the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC review embargo is September 20th.
This was revealed by MP1st. They say final impressions and verdicts for the DLC will be published at 08:00 PDT, 11:00 EST, and 16:00 BST.
It’s encouraging that reviews will be delivered so early. It’s not one day before launch like most games and expansions, and this will give fans plenty of time to discover whether the DLC is worth purchasing.
Hopefully, it also means the DLC is polished and relatively bug-free. Minor glitches happen in every game, but no one wants a repeat of Cyberpunk 2077’s unplayable state at launch back in 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC release date
The release date for the Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC is September 26th.
It is coming to PlayStation, PC, and Xbox. But, unlike the base game, it is next-gen only, meaning it will not be on either PS4 or Xbox One.
One of the biggest aspects of the DLC is the arrival of Hollywood icon and many people’s next pick for James Bond, Idris Elba. He joins the returning Keanu Reeves, and the story takes place in a whole new map in Night City.
However, before the Phantom Liberty DLC comes out, CD Projekt Red is releasing the free update 2.0. This massive update overhauls the entire game for free with additional content such as revamped police and exhilarating car chases.
The Phantom Liberty DLC is £24.99, and it comes with the following pre-order bonuses for PlayStation (via the PSN store):
- Three premium Phantom Liberty-themed avatars for your PlayStation Network profile
- In-game access to the Quadra Sport R-7 “Vigilante”
If you don’t already own Cyberpunk 2077, you can purchase a bundle for £57.99. This will get you both the base game and DLC.
