Football Manager 2024 is nearly upon us, which means that time again to ponder who to lead to glory in your new save.
Are you someone who likes to guide a side through the divisions in a rags-to-riches story? Or are you a perfectionist who likes to inherit a budget and dominate world football? Or can you seriously just not decide?
Well – don’t worry because we’ve got you covered. There are thousands of teams in FM 24, but we reckon we’ve whittled down a good selection for you to choose from.
So, with this – here are nine sides you should start a save with in Football Manager 2024.
1: Wrexham
Why not live the Hollywood fairytale yourself?
We’re not so sure that Red Dragons fans will be so thrilled with you whisking away Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney – but we’re sure you’ll win them over following a few promotions.
The Welsh side are an ideal save to get through the English divisions. Can you take them all the way from League 2 to Premier League champions?
2: Malaga
Wrexham are already a team on the up… but can you rebuild a fallen giant?
Malaga is a Spanish side with a rich history, amazing former talents, and a vast footballing culture, yet due to financial circumstances it has fallen into the Spanish Primera Federación – the third tier of football over there.
Can you be the one to restore their former glory?

3: Manchester City
This one is for the likes of you who want a save handed on a silver platter.
The Cityzens have just come off the back of a treble-winning season and possess some of the world’s finest talent. The big question is – can you do the impossible and repeat the feat?
You have big shoes to fill with Pep Guardiola departing. The pressure for perfection will be on from the off.
4: Lyon
A club in absolute turmoil at the moment is Ligue 1 giants Lyon.
Their financial problems have put the club into a full-blown crisis, so you’ll have to be prepared to scrimp somewhat.
Despite this, the plethora of young talent they possess can easily be nurtured to get them back up to the top of the table in no time.
5: Santos
Fancy a different kind of FM experience? How about you try your hand in South America?
More specifically Santos, in Brazil – where they need a much-needed revamp. The club has been on a slow, sad decline in recent times and is now facing relegation battles.
Can you save them before it’s too late?
6: Luton Town
The worst-ranked team in the Premier League are serial strugglers already this season… so can you save them from the drop?
This one would make for a great shorter save, where you can gradually guide Luton to Premier League glory, as opposed to the long haul through the divisions.
If you like to play the short game. This one could be the one for you.

7: IFK Goteborg
IFK Göteborg is one of the most successful clubs in Sweden but has had it rather troublesome as of late. You need to head back to 2007 for their last title!
They desperately need a pair of fresh eyes at the helm to turn things back around. Obtain a league title, then go and conquer Europe. The stuff of FM dreams.
