Call of Duty Moder Warfare III is set to be released the Friday – but the game is already causing a stir.

For the first time ever in back-to-back years, Call of Duty returns with a direct sequel. Modern Warfare III will immediately follow the Modern Warfare II storyline.

This is exciting for many reasons, with the ending of MWII leaving many possibilities as to where to go next in the new instalment.

However, something has surfaced which has seriously affected fans’ opinions on the title already.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare III campaign is just 3 hours long

The new game’s campaign clocks in at around three hours, which is simply ludicrous.

This makes sense, with the developers initially looking to release Modern Warfare III as an initial extension to its predecessor, but they eventually decided it would have enough to warrant a full title… are they sure?

Three hours is simply ridiculous for a game that costs around the $70 mark.

Fans are understandably furious

Fans are understandably mega annoyed at this revelation, with many taking to their computer screens and posting their frustrations online.

A player wrote, “What a slap in the face. I am shocked and appalled. The writing was on the wall this entire time if you really think about it. I will admit we had about two or three missions that really stood out. That open combat garbage though? If this is the direction of campaign[s] going forward, this is officially the death of CoD. Feels like all they care about is focusing on developing a new Warzone map and shoving every experience into it.”

Another added: I felt like I was playing a solo game of DMZ most of the time, this campaign is easily one of the worst CoD campaigns to date. Absolute horror show tbh, but I could see this coming miles away when they announced Sledgehammer was handling the campaign.

Another replied: Exactly my thoughts. Underwhelming! Maps are rehashed from MW2019, And I feel like I’m playing DMZ on steroids!.. Thankfully the refund button was quite handy.

Not good at all.
