Puyo Puyo Tetris esport? Yeah, maybe!

Remember a time when Tetris ruled the world and only the real l337 gamers could play it? Well, it looks like we could be getting back to gaming’s early roots thanks to the fact that favourite puzzle game Puyo Puyo is FINALLY coming back to PC.

This is the games first release PC since 2004, and you can bet your bottom dollar it will have a significant competitive scene

Now, Puyo Puyo Tetris has been out quite a while; in fact, it was released all the way back in 2014 on consoles. However, as for most esports, the PC community really is the major stepping stone.

The game will release on Steam in just two days for only £13.99, which isn’t bad considering its replayability and the fact that there is sure to be a booming competitive scene in the coming months.

Puyo Puyo Tetris Esports?

Three really odd esports games that probably shouldn’t be esports

In fact, Kotaku released a piece last year in support for Puyo Puyo Tetris to become a big esports title. While there is already a competitive mode and league on Puyo Puyo Tetris, a PC community would help build on this and attract in sponsorship for big competitions.

However, there are already Puyo Puyo Tetris World Championships, which was recently won by amemiyataiyo but also included an incredible comeback from DDR-Dan.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is super entertaining to watch and is an excellent move away from the usual blood and guts spilled on most esport games.

Hopefully, with its Steam release, we can expect to see more and more Puyo Puyo Tetris esports coming soon.
