Fortnite v3.5 update is here!
Another week and another Fortnite patch has come out. While last week was a little tame regarding what was offered in the form of new weapons or items, this one is quite the game changer.
Update v3.5 brings potentially one of the biggest changes to the game with the addition of Port-a-fort. These grenades allow for players to quickly have a base built around them in a matter of seconds. The fort forms in a classic one-by-one but has a protruding rooftop and looks fairly stable. There have been many times where I have been caught short on wood and having a port-a-fort grenade would be incredibly handy to have some protection while in battle.
5 Key attributes that make someone a great Fortnite teammate
As for gameplay, well we can say goodbye to switching quickly between two weapons to dish out fast damage. Epic had tried this with the nerf to the pump shotgun by changing its reload mechanic. However, that stopped the pump from working correctly, especially when coming up against a tactical shotgun. There is now a few seconds delay when switching between weapons that have a slow, but powerful fire-rate. This certainly is a huge change and it will be interesting to see how Fortnite v3.5 update affects the game.
The weapons affected are:
- Rocket Launcher
- Hand Cannon
- Revolver
- Tactical Shotgun
- Pump Shotgun
- Heavy Shotgun
- Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle
- Hunting Rifle
- Crossbow
Interestingly, this could still allow you to switch quickly between sub-machine guns and dish out some very fast damage.
The final big change is to the guided missile launcher (thank god for that!). The missile has had its turn speed reduced by 75% and the movement speed reduced by 15%. This is a welcomed change, especially since how overpowered the weapon has been since its introduction.
