One of the biggest esports shocks of 2018 has been Tarik moving to MiBR, and now we know why.

Tarik has revealed why he decided to leave Cloud9 for Made In Brazil.

Following ESL One: Cologne, rumours suggested Tarik could be off to MiBR to join up with Stewie2K. While Cloud9 didn’t have the best of tournaments, MiBR really struggled. It makes sense that they were in the market for another top player.

On July 12th, Cloud9 confirmed that Tarik had left the team after 9 months that saw him win three majors. He consistently proved that he was one of the best in-game leaders, and it is likely he will do a similar role for MiBR.

Tarik Has an Alibi

After leaving Cloud9, Tarik explained his reasoning, telling the MiBR YouTube that he thought he would stay with Cloud9 for the rest of his career.

“To be completely honest, I thought Cloud9 would be the last team that I compete under. They are an amazing organisation that truly went above & beyond my expectations. “

However, he also revealed that the main reason for him leaving to join MiBR was so he could win.

I can’t help but say that I’m very excited to start working with my new teammates on MiBR. The sole reason I want to make this change is simple… I want to win, and I will do anything in my power to make that happen.”

He will get his first opportunity at the ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier, and all eyes will be on how he, Stewie2K, and FalleN get on together for the first time.
