Good news, there will be a BlackOut armour nerf coming this week.

Treyarch’s Game Design Director, David Vonderhaar has revealed changes to armour in Blackout.

Call off Duty’s entry into the popular battle royal market, Blackout is having a very impressive beta. Released on PS4 earlier this week, the beta has seen some of the biggest content creators and streamers playing the game. While the sheer volume of players has been impressive and the feedback has been incredibly positive, a few issues have arisen.

While there have been claims from the likes of Shroud that the time to kill will be too fast on PC, on console, it feels very slow. This is in part due to how strong armour is.

Thankfully, it looks like a fix is on its way after tweets from Vonderhaar.

Before this patch, it felt like unless you had a sniper, coming up against someone with level 3 armour was a long drawn out affair. Even more so if they had a teammate, who could keep reviving them. With this nerf coming before the beta launch on Xbox and PC, we should see a strong improvement on time to kill.

While this sounds like a good thing for those on console, it will be interesting to see how it does play out in the PC meta.
