Could OpTic Scump retire after OpTic Gaming crash out of 2018 CWL Championships group stage?
When you think of competitive Call of Duty, one team’s name springs to mind; OpTic Gaming.
They have ruled the roost for over a decade on COD, winning a whopping 67 tournaments and an astonishing $600,000 at 2017 Call of Duty World League Championship. So, when the 2018 CWL Championships came around, we all thought that they stood a great chance of a high placing.
Incredibly though, OpTic crashed out of the tournament at the group stage. All OpTic needed to do going into their final match with Evil Geniuses was win a map and they would be through to the next round. However, EG totally destroyed the Black and Green 3-0 which sent them on the plane home.
As you can imagine, this came as a massive shock to fans, pundits, casters and even the OpTic roster. One man who seemed to take the brunt of the defeat was Seth ‘Scump’ Abner. The 23-year-old regarded as one of the best players in the world took to Twitter last night to share his frustrations.
Scump Tweets
Eliminated from champs. Sick to my stomach.

Don’t know what to do bros. Put my heart into getting better and still sucked. Let down 3 amazing teammates and people, not to mention an entire fan base. Gutted. Absolutely gutted.

With Call of Duty WWII’s competitive scene now wrapping it, it will be interesting to see if Scump continues into Black Ops 4. We have seen former team-mate Karma make the jump to a full-time streamer, so maybe Scump will follow suit.
