How annoying is a Mei ultimate disappearing – even when you definitely throw it?
Arguably, Overwatch is a very balanced game. There are many counters to every character, and no one hero can totally dominate. Genji counters Bastion, Mei counters Genji, Junkrat counters Mei, and Widowmaker counters Junkrat. See, it all works out; look at how balanced things are in the game!
However, there is one thing that is incredibly annoying about Overwatch. No, it’s not the loot boxes or various controversies in the Overwatch League, it is some ultimates. Any projective ultimate – something like Mei’s Blizzard or Tracer’s Pulse bomb – don’t have a fair shake. If you throw them as you die, they disappear, meaning you’ve basically wasted them.
If you are Hanzo, you can fire off your Dragonstrike and even if you die, it continues on. While I have mentioned how annoying this is as someone who plays a lot of Mei, one Reddit user has also shared their concern.
I would love it if the Tracer/Mei disappearing ult changes were reverted. from Overwatch
Another big problem as someone mentions in the comment section of this post is Ana’s nano boost. This also disappears if you die just after shooting it.
Will Blizzard fix this?
Who knows. There is a whole laundry list of problems at the moment with some severe bugs still in the game, such as the Wrecking Ball and Sombra glitches. It would be nice though if the even added an extra second or so to allow these ultimates to be dropped.
