Looks like we won’t see OpTic Scump retire any time soon.
Following OpTic Gaming’s shocking exit from the Call of Duty World League Championships, everyone thought Scump was done.
They’re former champions and the highly tipped to pick up the title this year. In fact, OpTic have ruled the roost for the past decade, winning a whopping 67 tournaments. However, they went out at the group stage, in one of the biggest shocks in competitive Call of Duty history. While they did go out to the eventual winners, Evil Geniuses, it was still crazy to see.
Following the loss, legendary player, Scump, took to Twitter to speak how he ‘felt sick to his stomach’. This sparked mad fans and even us to suggest that he might just be looking to retire from competitive Call of Duty. While this did seem like it could have been right, it seems like Scump is not ready to retire just yet.
Not retiring yet
Not retiring. I want to win again (just to clear the rumors and speculation)

It looks like we will be seeing Scump carry on until after Black Ops 4 at least, which is very exciting, especially for OpTic fans. One thing we may see over the coming months is Scump returning to Twitch to offer him a new career path if he does retire. His last stream was way back in November 2017 following the release of WW2. We’ll keep an eye out to see if he does return.
