Good news! We’ve finally got Modern Warfare 3 backwards compatible on Xbox One.

It feels like a very long time since Call of Duty was the biggest and best game around. Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty Black Ops were both massively popular titles, each selling over 20 million copies.

The third Modern Warfare title had a truly considerable percentage of the gaming community, however; with it being the best selling Call of Duty game of all time.

The likelihood is that you have an old copy kicking around somewhere; assuming you didn’t break it in some classic Call Duty rage. If that’s the case – you’re in luck!

The title has now been added to the backwards compatibility on Xbox One meaning you can relive those classic maps like… Downtown?!

Interestingly, both Activision and Microsoft have decided to skip past probably the most demanded game to be added to the backwards compatibility list. This could point towards us getting a remastered title next year, which would undoubtedly do well regarding sales.

As for Modern Warfare 3, if you don’t have it, you can purchase it for £14.99 on the Xbox Store; which in our opinion, is a bit much for a near seven-year-old game.

Your best bet would be snapping up a second-hand copy. Then you have something to smash if you get mad.

Nostalgia Factor

With that being said, the single-player campaign might be considered one of the best. The game picks up right where the second title left off; a rogue group of Task Force 141 hunting down international terrorist Vladimir Makarov.

The multiplayer will be fun, now the majority of players have left. The killstreaks were enjoyable, and some of the weapons were a lot of fun; especially the Striker. If you miss it like I do, check it out.
