Once again, Astralis are the champions. Last night they became the winners of BLAST Pro Series São Paulo 2019 after a heated Bo3 Grand Final against Team Liquid. The event also featured top teams such as MIBR and ENCE. Here’s what we learned from BLAST Pro Series São Paulo 2019.
Astralis is the Best CS:GO Team of All Time
Astralis becoming champions of a big event is second nature now. In fact, in their past 13 events, they have only come below 1st place in two of them. That includes two major wins and a slew of championships at premier events.
The team almost seem unstoppable. Despite a loss to Team Liquid at iBUYPOWER Masters 2019, they continue to dominate the scene and show that they are head and shoulders above everyone else in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
ENCE is a Clear Top 5 Team
In a recent HLTV interview, ENCE veteran allu said his first goal was to become a stable top 5 team. It looks like it has already happened. After ENCE’s incredible run to 2nd place at the IEM Katowice Major, some fans thought it was just a fluke.
However, they have once again shown they can compete with the best in the world. At BLAST Pro Series São Paulo they picked up wins against FaZe Clan, MIBR, and Ninjas in Pyjamas. They would have made Grand Finals but a 15-15 tie with Team Liquid saw them lose on points. Nonetheless, they have proven their skill against the best in the world.
Team Liquid is the Best – Bar Astralis
It’s fair to assume that if Astralis weren’t around, Team Liquid would be the best team in the world. They have the best talent in the NA region and consistently make finals in big events. The problem is, they always run into Astralis.
Team Liquid has repeatedly come in 2nd place to Astralis over the past year. They did score a win against them at IBP Masters 2019, but it seems they need just a little more consistency to keep it up.
Dev1ce is Making a Run for Best CS:GO Player
When it comes to the debate of best CS:GO player in the world, most people would say it goes to s1mple. However, with countless event wins and MVPs under his belt, dev1ce could be the best player of 2019.
He had the best performance by far at BLAST Pro Series São Paulo with a 1.35 rating across 8 maps. The next highest was EliGE with 1.22 in 8 maps. Although s1mple wasn’t there, dev1ce once again proves how good he is.
MIBR Continue to Struggle
After a troublesome 2018, MIBR went back to their roots with an all-Brazilian roster. It seemed that an event in their home country would be the perfect time to shine, but it didn’t quite happen that way.
The team continues to struggle. They lost all five of their games at the event and were the lowest rated team. Will MIBR be able to get back on track in 2019?
