The first Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC character, Piranha Plant, will be available in February according to recent news. Joker (Persona 5) will follow after that. However, many fans are still anticipating who the next Smash Bros Ultimate DLC character will be. Many DLC leaks and rumors have surfaced, including one for Ryu Hayabusa in Smash Bros Ultimate.

Ryu Hayabusa is the protagonist of Ninja Gaiden, a long-running Tecmo game series which has made its home on Nintendo consoles many times. So what are the chances of Ryu Hayabusa DLC in Smash Bros Ultimate?

Ryu Hayabusa in Smash Bros Ultimate DLC Leak

The Ryu Hayabusa rumor came from a Smash Bros DLC leak initially posted on Japanese message board 5chan and translated by a GameFAQs user.

The leak brings up 5 characters- Joker (Persona 5), Erdrick (Dragon Quest), Steve (Minecraft), Marine (DOOM), and Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden).

While many Smash Bros leaks are hoaxes, it correctly predicted Joker in Smash Bros Ultimate and Persona 5 R coming in 2019.

It claims that there’s a new Ninja Gaiden project in the works, which could potentially tie in with Ryu Hayabusa DLC for Smash Ultimate. While the credibility is questionable, it’s an interesting possibility.

Will Ryu Hayabusa Be In Smash Ultimate?

Of all the Smash Bros character leaks, this one seems the most unlikely. While Ninja Gaiden is a well-established game series, it pales in popularity compared to many of the other options fans want in Smash Bros Ultimate. Especially with another Ryu in the roster.

However, other Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC characters, such as Joker, have been far from predictable.

It appears that Nintendo will use the Smash Ultimate DLC characters to promote big upcoming games. If it’s true that a big Ninja Gaiden project is coming, this rumor will certainly gain some traction. So far, other rumors such as Erdrick and Metroid Prime Sylux in Smash Bros Ultimate seem more likely.
