Formula 1 team Renault have announced their partnership with eSports’ Team Vitality, a French esports organisation.

The partnership will see the formation of ‘Renault Sport Team Vitality’ with a trio of gamers in Philip Paschmeyer, Victor Locquet and Sandro Holzwarth set to make up the newly formed squad.

As it stands, Team Vitality currently compete across Call of Duty, FIFA, Halo, League of Legends, Rainbow Six and H1Z1 in various different league’s around Europe and the rest of the world.

Along with the Renault Sport Team Vitality announcement, it was confirmed that the new team is set to concentrate on the Rocket League Championship Series Europe for the rest of the current year, with plans of expanding their reach towards the Formaula 1 eSports series.

Team Vitality to train with Reanult?

According to Renault’s Formula 1 managing director the existing overlaps between traditional motorsports and the digital gaming version are plentiful.

As reported by Eurosport, Cyril Abiteboul said: “The ties that exist between motorsport and gaming are obvious.

“Both call for mental strength and physical fitness in a highly competitive environment.

“Last year’s exciting launch by FOM of the F1 esports Series has accelerated the convergence of these two worlds and created opportunities for collaboration.

It was confirmed that Team Vitality gamers will be free to use the the Renault Formula 1 factory in Oxfordshire, England in a bid to help up the quality of training and technical support.
