One of the biggest attractions for many Pokemon GO players is the (rare) chance of encountering and capturing special Shiny Pokemon.
These incredibly rare Pokemon (often as rare as 1/500) sport a different colour palate to their usual forms.
Some of them look fantastic, while others don’t even look like they’ve changed at all.
Here at Elecspo, we’ve broken down what we think are the 10 best Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon GO that are available right now.

10. Houndour/Houndoom
The pair of demon dogs only undergo a minor change, but it’s a relatively cool one.
Rather than their usual black and orange, they turn a shade of blue that makes them look equally as devilish.
9. Shelder/Cloyster
Shelder’s Shiny form undergoes a major transformation, changing from its usual purple colour to a vivid orange.
Cloyster’s is slightly more understated, but equally as good looking changing from purple to blue.
8. Drifloon/Drifblim
Now for our first Ghost-type Pokemon.
In their normal forms, both Drifloon and Drifblim sport an ominous purple colour, however, their shiny forms are quite the contrast.
The pair turn a bright yellow colour with turquoise accents, taking away some of their spookiness.
7. Zubat/Golbat/Crobat
Zubat is known for being one of the most annoying Pokemon in the whole series. You couldn’t set foot in a cave in the first couple of games without being bombarded by countless blue bats.
Thankfully, Zubat, and its evolution Golbat make up for their vast numbers with a tidy green shiny form.
Their third stage evolution, Crobat, takes things to the next level – turning a wonderful Pink colour. There’s certainly no hiding in caves with that bright pink look!
6. Nosepass/Probopass
Now for the first of two consecutive golden ‘Mons.
Released last month, Shiny Nosepass (and Probopass) is a site to behold! The rocky compass Pokemon changes from a dull blue to a yellowy-gold colour and I’m here for it.
5. Shinx/Luxio/Luxray
This one helps as I get to flex my Shundo muscles, but shiny Shinx/Luxio/Luxray look great.
The good electric boyes turn that yellowy-gold colour that makes the Shiny Nosepass so cool.
4. Beldum/Metang/Metagross
Appearing as a Community Day Pokemon, Beldum and its evolutions look rad in their Shiny forms, especially Metagross.
The absolute tank turns silver with a golden cross over its front and definitely deserves its spot in the top 5.
3. Charizard
The second and third place Pokemon are interchangeable and there’s nothing really to seperate them.
They’re both giant dragons that look awesome with a coat of black paint on them.
2.5. Mega Charizard X/Y
Okay, I’m cheating a little, but I couldn’t add Charizard to the list without including its Shiny Mega forms.
2. Rayquaza
As stated in Charizard’s description, nothing more needs to be said about a giant black (and gold) dragon.
1. Mega Gengar
Mega Gengar undoubtedly tops many people’s overall top Shiny lists, let alone just in Pokemon GO.
It’s the stark contrast that draws many people in as rather than the dark purple we’re used to, Mega Gengar is white with a pink hue and it looks awesome.
