Nintendo Direct January 2019 could come within the next week. Traditionally, Nintendo holds a Direct presentation every January between the 11th-17th. What’s more, leaks also suggest the next Nintendo Direct is in January. But what exactly will we see in the next Nintendo Direct? Here’s what to expect.

New Game Announcements

Over the past year, many huge announcements for Nintendo Switch games have come about. However, many of the top titles are still without release dates.

Take, for instance, big titles such as Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Metroid Prime 4, Animal Crossing Switch, and Yoshi’s Crafted World.

We should see some more news and info on these upcoming games in a Nintendo Direct 2019 presentation.

It’s also likely we’ll see announcements for new games. A new Pokemon RPG is rumored for 2019, and there should be plenty of new releases for the Switch Spring/Summer schedule.

A New Nintendo Switch?

January Nintendo Directs often also feature announcements for new Nintendo hardware.

Last year, the Wall Street Journal reported Nintendo has plans to release an upgraded Switch. The console would have a larger screen and likely other new features to attract buyers. This could make a huge Nintendo Direct January 2019 announcement.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate News

There’ll also likely be some new updates for Super Smash Bros Ultimate. It was the biggest game of 2019, and with huge DLC announcements, there’s still a lot to cover.

A Direct broadcast could officially announce the Piranha Plant release date, Joker DLC Pack release date, and even information on new Smash Bros Ultimate DLC.

We may even see some new patches for Smash Bros Ultimate. Expect to hear something about the game in the next Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo Direct January 2019 Date

There’s no official announcement for a January Nintendo Direct yet. However, fans should keep a close eye on the Nintendo Twitter.

In previous years, the Directs usually take place on the second or third week of January. That means an announcement could come any day now. We’ll keep up to date on all the latest Nintendo Direct news on Elecspo.com.
