Overwatch Patch 1.33.01 is now live in the game. Along with a gameplay update and some bug fixes, there’s also a brand new Overwatch map. New Overwatch map Paris is set in the French capital, featuring a range of areas based on the city itself and even the Eiffel Tower. Here’s more on the new Overwatch updates.

New Overwatch Map Paris

The new map takes inspiration from the capital of France itself, Paris. It’s an Assault map with plenty of areas to check out.

You can see the Eiffel Tower, check out some art and music, and even play the piano! Players on YouTube have been getting creative with the Overwatch Paris Piano by playing some recognizable tunes.

You can currently play Paris in Quick Play or Arcade mode. While it isn’t part of the Competitive Map Pool yet, it will be from March 5th.

More Overwatch Patch 1.33 Updates

The Overwatch Paris map isn’t all the latest Overwatch update adds to the game.

There’s a new significant gameplay update which changes the way you take damage.

Developer Comments: In Overwatch, a health type order determines the prioritization of subtracting health, shield, or armor types when a hero takes damage. For example, if a hero has recoverable shields and takes damage, the damage taken will diminish the recoverable shield before it subtracts from their recoverable health. Previously, it was possible for heroes’ recoverable shields to be prioritized for damage and regeneration, allowing their non-recoverable armor to persist. With the order adjustment, heroes who have been granted non-recoverable armor or shields will now consume those resources before recoverable health, armor, or shields.

This makes consumable armors and shields much more powerful in the game. There’s also a change to Player Lobbies which allows you to change the Lobby Owner.

Other than that, there have been bug fixes to many parts of the game. You can see the full Overwatch Patch 1.33.01 Patch Notes here.
