A new Harry Potter mobile game from the creators of Pokemon GO is coming in 2019. The new game, titled ‘Wizards Unite’, will use Augmented Reality features. Players will be able to see fantastic beasts, use spells, and meet characters from the book. A new trailer was released today.
New Harry Potter Mobile Game – Harry Potter: Wizards Unite
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will follow a similar format to Niantic’s popular Pokemon GO mobile game. According to the official website, players will sign up as Wizards to protect the Muggle world from the chaotic magical threat of Calamity.
Players will be able to explore their local surroundings while encountering characters and artifacts from the Harry Potter series. A press release from Warner Brothers explained:
In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, players will be able to explore real-world surroundings to unravel a global mystery, cast spells, and encounter fantastic beasts and iconic characters along the way.
It’s not the first official Harry Potter mobile game. The Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery mobile game is available right now on Android and Apple devices.
The new Harry Potter: Wizards Unite game will launch under the same Portkey Games banner. This is a new brand from WB games to cover various Harry Potter gaming experiences. That means more Wizarding World games are likely on the way!
