There’s also a Mortal Kombat 11 Closed Beta next week, available to players who pre-order the game. Here’s more on the latest MK11 news.

New Mortal Kombat 11 Characters – Kotal Kahn and Jacqui Briggs

The Mortal Kombat 11 roster is heating up with two returning fighters from Mortal Kombat X.

The first is Kotal Kahn. A press release from WBGames describes the Osh-Tekk warrior.

Kotal Kahn is an Osh-Tekk warrior and Emperor of Outworld. Years ago, Kotal saved the Empire from chaos and claimed the throne of Kahn. Now his reign is plagued by rising tensions at home and abroad. Determined to keep order, Kotal wrestles with the temptation to exercise the same brutal tactics as his predecessors. Kotal summons the power of the sun to strengthen his abilities against his opponents.

The gameplay trailer shows Kotal Kahn transforming from a beast into a man. He battles using his sword, fists, a projectile weapon, and even morph between man and animal to attack opponents. He also calls on the sun for power.

We also see Jacqui Briggs in the gameplay trailer. Jacqui Briggs is a kickboxer who’s a close acquaintance of Cassie Cage. As such, her moves in battle represent a range of kickboxing techniques.

They now join the 16-character roster alongside Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Skarlet, Baraka, Geras, Kano, D’Vorah, Kabal, Jade, Johnny Cage, Cassie Cage, and Erron Black.

This gives even more credibility to the recent Mortal Kombat 11 roster leaks, which suggest there’ll be 28 characters in the base roster.
