Last year at E3, Nintendo announced that Metroid Prime 4 will come out for the Switch in 2019. The long-running series hasn’t had an installment since Metroid Prime 3 in 2007. But while no launch date was given, it seems the Metroid Prime 4 release date has now been leaked by a European game retailer.

Metroid Prime 4 Release Date – 29 November 2019

Thanks to an online game retailer, we may now know the release date for Metroid Prime 4.

BadFive reported that Czech game retailer SuperGamer displayed the Metroid Prime 4 release date as 29 November 2019.

While this isn’t official confirmation, it could very well be true. Release dates have been leaked early in the past by online retailers multiple times, including Walmart and even the Nintendo Online Shop.

With little information on the game available, it stands to reason it’s still in development for a late year release. Expect to hear more official news about Metroid Prime 4 soon- perhaps in the form of a Nintendo Direct.

Nintendo Direct News Coming?

With many big Nintendo releases to come in 2019, it stands to reason there will be a Direct broadcast soon.

Usually, Nintendo holds a Nintendo Direct every January during the 2nd or 3rd week. That means we could see a Nintendo Direct January 2019 very, very soon.

This could include news on Metroid Prime 4, Animal Crossing Switch, Fire Emblem: Houses, and many other big Nintendo games in 2019.

While there’s no announcement yet, fans should expect something big from Nintendo this month.

Metroid Prime 4 – What We Know

While the teaser trailer for Metroid Prime 4 didn’t give much away, there is some interesting information out there.

Metroid Prime producer Kensuke Tanabe will once again take the reins, along with a new development team.

In a Eurogamer interview, Tanabe revealed that the story will center around Samus and Sylux- a rival bounty hunter.

So it was Sylux, another hunter from Metroid Prime Hunters at the end of Metroid Prime 3. Personally I’d like to create a story centering around Sylux and Samus.

This also reflects other rumors. A Smash Bros Ultimate DLC leak claimed that Sylux from Metroid Prime will come to Smash Bros Ultimate as a DLC character.

With over a decade since the last Metroid Prime, Prime fans will have a lot to look forward to this year.
