Week 8 of the EU LCS has more exciting matches than we know what to do with. G2 vs Misfits is the obvious game of the week, but Schalke vs Vitality is also shaping up to be a must-watch match.

Misfits and G2 were easily the top two teams through the first half of the summer split. Since then, both have struggled to live up to expectations. Misfits have been sliding ever since their week 5 loss to Fnatic and G2 hasn’t beat a top-tier team since week 3. Still, both teams remain in the top three in the league and a first, second or third place spot could be on the line when they match up against each other on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Schalke vs Vitality on Friday night has the potential to be one of the biggest games of the split. Both teams sit at 9-5 and are part of a three-way tie for third with G2. Unlike G2, Schalke and Vitality are in their best form of the season.

Schalke and Vitality are a combined 7-1 over the last two weeks

Schalke are 3-1 over the last two weeks and despite a tough loss to Fnatic in week 6, they’ve looked solid in almost all of their matches against top-tier teams. Vitality are riding a four-game winning streak and are dominating their opponents. They destroyed Fnatic last week and Attila and Jactroll have been lights out in the bot lane.

All four teams sit near the top of the standing and the outcomes of these two matches could have major playoff implications.

Schalke vs Vitality is scheduled for Friday night at 10 PM CEST. Then G2 takes on Misfits at 8 PM CEST on Saturday.
