The IEM Katowice EU & CIS Minor tournaments are over and four teams have made it to the major. In a European Minor with teams like North and mousesports, upcoming teams ENCE and Vitality were the two to qualify. Meanwhile, in the CIS Minor, AVANGAR and Spirit made it through. IEM Katowice EU Minor Results
The top two teams to make it through the EU Minor are ENCE and Vitality. These are two of the absolute best CS:GO teams to watch out for in 2019, as they once again prove in the EU Qualifier.
ENCE were the first to make it through after beating Space Soldiers, Windigo, Valiance, and North. ENCE went undefeated throughout the Minor to secure their spot in the IEM Katowice CS:GO Major.
Vitality beat OpTic Gaming and Valiance twice. Despite losing to North in the playoffs, they got their vengeance in the Loser’s Finals, scoring a 2-1 Bo3 victory to qualify.
The event also cemented sergej and Zywoo as some of the best upcoming CS:GO players. Zywoo’s performances were crucial to Vitality’s run, while sergej once again stepped up for ENCE.
IEM Katowice CIS Minor Results
AVANGAR and Team Spirit were the two teams to make it through the CIS Minor
Kazakhstan team AVANGAR has steadily risen through the ranks to be one of the top CIS teams. They’re currently ranked #18 by HLTV and will likely rise further. Team Spirit also showed their potential, taking out many top teams in the region.
AVANGAR beat pro100 twice, Team Spirit, and Winstrike. Despite losing to Winstrike 2-1 early in the Group Stages, they flipped the script and beat them 2-1 in the playoffs to be the first qualifying CIS team.
Team Spirit beat Nemiga, Syman, Gambit, and Winstrike. Their only loss was to AVANGAR (2-0) in the playoffs.
IEM Katowice 2019 Qualifiers
With the IEM Katowice EU & CIS Minor championships in the books, the tournament is shaping up to be a good one.
Next, teams from the Americas and Asia regions will fight to qualify. The Asia and Americas Minors start on 22nd January and run through till the 26th. With teams like NRG, Team Envy, Renegades, and CyberZen playing, it’ll be interesting to see the next qualifying teams.
