The first stage of the CS:GO Major is now in the books. Now, we know the 8 teams who qualified from the Challengers Stage and the full list of 16 New Legends Stage Teams. It’s been interesting so far, with the top seed exiting early and some up and coming teams making it through. Here’s who you’ll be watching in the upcoming stages.
IEM Katowice 2019 New Legends Stage Teams – Who Qualified?
A total of eight teams qualified from the IEM Katowice 2019 Challengers Stage. These are as follows.
Renegades – The Australian team were the first to go 3-0, beating AVANGAR (16-8), Ninjas in Pyjamas (16-3), and ENCE (2-0 Bo3).
NRG Esports – NRG was the second highest team on the IEM Katowice Team Rankings, and they showed why. They beat Winstrike (16-9), ViCi Gaming (16-6), and TYLOO (2-0 Bo3) to go 3-0.
Team Vitality – One of the top upcoming teams. After a loss to TYLOO, they beat Grayhound Gaming (19-17), Vega Squadron (16-1), and ViCi Gaming (2-0 Bo3) to qualify 3-1.
AVANGAR – The top team from the CIS Minor also qualify 3-1. They beat FURIA (16-14), G2 Esports (16-10), and TYLOO (2-0 Bo3). Their one loss was to Renegades.
ENCE eSports – The top Finnish team beat Team Spirit (16-10), G2 (16-6), and Winstrike (2-1 Bo3). They lost a Bo3 series to Renegades (0-2).
Ninjas in Pyjamas – NiP had a rocky road to qualify, being 1-2 at one point after losing to Renegades and Winstrike. They rallied up wins against FURIA (16-6), Vega Squadron (2-1 Bo3), and ViCi Gaming (2-1) to qualify 3-2.
G2 Esports – G2 qualify 3-2 with wins over Vega Squadron (16-14), Fnatic (2-1 Bo3), and TYLOO (2-1 Bo3). They lost to ENCE and AVANGAR.
Cloud9 – The third highest-ranked team was the last to qualify with wins over Grayhound Gaming (16-11), FURIA (2-1 Bo3), and Winstrike (2-0 Bo3). They lost to TYLOO and ViCi.
That means that ViCi Gaming, TYLOO, Winstrike, Vega Squadron, Fnatic, FURIA, Grayhound Gaming, and Team Spirit are now all out of the tournament. However, the qualifying teams will take a step up in competition at the Legends Stage.
IEM Katowice 2019 All Legends Stage Teams
There will be 16 teams to compete at the Legends Stage of the IEM Katowice CS:GO Major. These will be the eight teams from the Challengers Stage and the Top 8 teams from the FACEIT London Major.

The New Legends stage will run from February 20th – 24th, 2019. Teams will compete in a 16 team Swiss format, much like the Challengers Stage.
The top eight teams from the Legends Stage will progress to the Champions Stage on February 28th – March 3rd, 2019. This is where the winner will be crowned.
