Wario is one of the returning characters in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. He’s also ranked as a High Tier character on some of the recent Smash Bros Ultimate Tier Lists. So how do you get Wario? Here’s a guide on how to unlock Wario in Smash Bros Ultimate.
Fastest Way To Unlock Wario In Smash Bros Ultimate
While there’s no super fast way to get Wario, the fastest way to unlock Wario is by playing Classic Mode 7 times. Start as Samus and you’ll unlock Inkling, Wii Fit Trainer, Pit, Incineroar, Dark Samus, Cloud, and then Wario.
This should take around 70 minutes or less depending on how fast you complete each run of Classic Mode. While you can also use Smash Mode or World of Light to unlock him, these methods will usually take longer.
How To Unlock Wario In Classic Mode
If you’re unlocking Wario from scratch, it’ll take 7 games of Classic Mode to unlock him. The character unlock order for Smash Ultimate shows that he’s the 8th character in Samus’ unlock chain.
Samus > Inkling > Wii Fit Trainer > Pit > Incineroar > Dark Samus > Cloud > Wario > Dark Pit > Sonic
You can either use Samus 7 times to complete Classic Mode or use any of the characters you unlock after. With each game of Classic Mode taking around 10 minutes, you can do this in 70 minutes or less.
How To Unlock Wario In Smash Mode
Smash Mode allows you to unlock all of the fighters in Smash Bros Ultimate. While you can usually do this at a rate of one character every 10 minutes, you can use a trick by resetting the game software to unlock new characters every 1-2 minutes.
However, Wario is the 24th character you’ll unlock using this method. While you can still unlock him relatively quickly, Classic Mode may work out faster.
How To Unlock Wario In World of Light
Finally, you can use the Smash Bros Ultimate Adventure Mode, World of Light, to unlock characters.
You can find Wario in the World of Dark after beating the Mummy Spirit in Dracula’s Castle. However, you won’t reach this point until many hours into the game, making this the slowest method to unlock him.
