What were the best moments from NinjaVegas 18?

One of the first official Fortnite esports events was hosted this weekend and was a huge success.

It was organised by the Esports Arena in Las Vegas and hyper-popular Fortnite Twitch streamer, Tyler ‘Ninja’ Bevins. The event saw Ninja take on ten lucky players as well as other professional streamers in a battle for a chunk of the $50,000 prize pool.

This included some of the biggest names in the world of streaming and Fortnite, with the likes of Myth, Summit, Shroud and Dr Lupo; the latter acting as one of the shout-casters.

It is safe to say that there were so many records and incredible moments, and here are some of the best:

1. Twitch concurrent viewers record

The Twitch concurrent views record has been broken three times this year and guess what? It was broken again during the NinjaVegas18 event thanks to Ninja taking on TSM Myth. Incredibly, a whopping 644,000 tuned in to see the two do battle – although the outcome was… not so great. When you put two of the best Fortnite players around together, you would expect magic, but instead Myth totally choked under pressure and died almost instantly thanks to fall damage.

Still, it was stunning to see just how many people were interested in tuning in to a Fortnite game. A very big moment from NinjaVegas 18.

2. A 14-year-old wins big

Despite Myth getting destroyed in this lobby, you know who else was somewhat embarrassed by it? Ninja, after he was beaten by a 14-year-old. The young man known as 4DRStorm picked himself up not only $2,500 but some considerable following in the process. Storm was able to get five kills, a very respectable number especially considering the stacked lobby that he was placed in.

3. The introduction of Blind

It is always interesting founding out new players and new streamers, however, the introduction of BlindsTV at NinjaVegas18 was rather fantastic.

He went into the tournament as a total unknown but is now being considered as one of the best Fortnite players around. So, why has he got such a good reputation? Well, in the space of two games he won $7,500 and had fans going crazy for him.

After his two incredible Ninja kills and victories, fans started searching for his Fortnite stats. What they found honestly shocked them, after discovering he has a whopping 70% win ratio with a 19 k/d ratio in season 3.
