What do you think of the Fortnite crystals?
Fortnite Season 4 has kicked off with a bang – quite literally as a massive meteor hit Dusty! Yeah, we know you all know that by now but we need to keep mentioning ‘cos SEO!
Anyway, one thing has been rather game-changing throughout the first few days; the crystals. These things have divided the community – mainly because when you have them, you like them, and when you get killed by someone who has them, you are mad at them.
What are they?

These crystals give you one hell of a boost. Consume them, and you will gain zero gravity. They last about 30 seconds or so and will stop you from getting any fall damage. You also can almost bunny hop your way across the map very quickly while having one of these consumed.
Where are they?
You’ll predominantly find them in the huge crater at Dusty Depot. There are absolutely loads scattered across the main crash site, which makes things very interesting if you land there.
You can also find a couple at any other crater’s, with ones being found at:
- Tilted Towers
- North West of Snobby Shores
- The race track east of Retail Row
- The Motel close to Anarchy Acres
- Risky Reels
- The Prison close to Moisty Mire
What do people think of them?
A lot of people seem to like them, especially when you land in Dusty. The game almost turns into a third person Tribe’s Ascend, which is absolutely something we’re on board with.

However, while there are many fans of it – some are pretty annoyed at the advantage it gives players. While it does only last for 30 seconds or so, the benefits of it certainly outweigh the negatives.
Verdict?
We really like them. I can certainly see why it is annoying to be killed by someone who can launch themselves into the air and become impossible to hit.
One thing we would like to see is a Limited Time Mode with players always having the benefits of the crystals.
