It is official, Fortnite is more popular that PUBG.

Incredibly, the game has managed almost to double the numbers that biggest rivals PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds in 2018.

In fact, Fortnite’s popularity is so much that it is also the most streamed game on Twitch as well, with SullyGnome claiming that over the past 14 days, the game has been streamed for over 246 days.

And if that sounds impressive, the fact that the total time of the game watched in just two weeks is a whopping 4,882 years, which is an incredible statistic.

5 Twitch streamers with the most subscribers – March 2018

While this may seem like a short and sharp increase in numbers, it has actually been a trend that has been going on since the beginning of 2018. Fortnite has seen a very steep and consistent increase over the past 90 days, while PUBG has significantly dropped to just under an average of 80,000 concurrent viewers.

So why exactly has this happened?

Well, one of the biggest reasons is the continued popularity of the likes of streamers such as Myth and Ninja. The latter of which actually broke the 100,000 subscriber mark last week.

There is also the fact that Epic is putting out weekly updates to the game that includes not only new weapons but actual fixes to bugs and issues. Oh and then there are daily skins which are added to the game that brought in a whopping $200,000,000 in 2018 through microtransactions.

One thing is for sure, it looks like Fortnite is more popular that PUBG and that won’t be changing anytime soon.
