After a long wait, Fortnite Season 8 is finally out and it’s a huge update. The latest Fortnite patch features a new map full of pirate cannons, new locations, and a volcano. There’s also new gameplay updates, weapon changes, a new Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass and a whole slew of new updates to Fortnite Save the World. Here’s more on Fortnite Season 8.
Fortnite Season 8 New Map
Fortnite Season 8 has many new features for the Battle Royale mode. The map has been updated with a couple of new locations, including the Volcano and Lazy Lagoon.
Lazy Lagoon is a Pirate Ship complete with cannons. It takes the place of Loot Lake.
Cannons can also be found in other areas of the map. You can use these to shoot at enemies or even launch yourself across the map.
Meanwhile, there’s also a new Volcano. This also comes along with a couple of new gameplay features. Walking across lava will deal 1 damage per touch for players, and they can also bounce off lava.
There are also new Volcanic Vents around the volcano. These launch players into the air without any damage. You can use these to traverse across the map.
Another new location is Sunny Steps- a pyramid full of hidden loot. Across the map, you can currently find the HellraiserGaming’s Block, a crossover from Creative Mode.
Fortnite Season 8 Updates
In addition to cannons and new locations, Fortnite Season 8 features some other interesting new updates.
You can use Party Assist to complete daily and weekly challenges with your teammates. This’ll make it easier for players to work through the new Fortnite Season 8 Battle Pass Challenges.
Limited Time Modes currently consist of 50v50, Close Encounters (featuring close range weapons), and Team Rumble- a mode where two teams fight to be the first to 100 eliminations.
There are also some major updates to Creative Mode and Save the World. Creative Mode features a new Jungle Temple Theme and featured Creative Islands which allow players to join you. Save the World has a brand new Hero Loadout feature, along with new events and gameplay changes.
