Fortnite 7.40 will come to the game later this week. However, the Epic Games staff have already revealed some of the upcoming Fortnite 7.40 updates. It seems we’ll see a range of new gameplay balance changes, including updates to the Hand Cannon, Planes, and Rocket Launcher. There will likely also be new Fortnite skins and a new LTM – Solid Gold Duos. Here’s more on the Fortnite 7.40 Update.
Fortnite 7.40 Updates – Reduced Plane Damage, Gun Changes
Some of the new Fortnite 7.40 Updates were posted on Reddit by Epic Games Design Lead, u/EpicEricSW. These are as follows.
“Hey Fortnite community!
- Wanted to give a sneak peek at some of the changes coming in this week’s v7.40 update.
- Planes will no longer be able to smash through structures
- Zipline interact prompt added, and using a Zipline will grant fall damage immunity
- Hand Cannon structure damage reduced from 150 to 100
- Turbo Build delay decreased from 0.15s to 0.05s
- Rocket Launcher reload time increased from 2.52s to 3.24s
- Added the ability to crouch while in Edit Mode”
Most of these are gameplay balance changes, such as adjustments to the Hand Cannon and Rocket Launcher. Planes will also be less overpowered as they won’t be able to break structures.
Fortnite 7.40 Events – Share The Love and Solid Gold Duos
Meanwhile, new Fortnite events are also coming. Epic Games recently announced their Share The Love event. This will feature Valentine’s Day themed challenges and special rewards.
You can receive double XP points from February 15-17 and 22-24. There will also be ‘Featured Island Frenzy’ in Creative Mode, showcasing a range of new islands.
Share The Love will run until February 27. There will most likely also be some new Valentine’s Day skins in the Fortnite 7.40 update.
The new update will also feature a new Limited Time Mode- Solid Gold Duos. A member of Epic Games staff posted about the new mode on Reddit.
The 7.40 Update will come in the next few days. It should be the last Fortnite Season 7 Update before the Fortnite Season 8 Release Date at the start of March.
