ENCE are the StarSeries Season 6 Winners! In a tournament with teams like Mousesports, BIG, North, and HellRaisers, the Grand Finals came down to Finnish team ENCE and the CIS Vega Squadron.

In a back and forth 3-2 victory in a Best of 5 series, ENCE became the StarSeries i-League Season 6 champions. Meanwhile, sergej wins MVP for his standout performance. Here’s how the event went down.

ENCE Become StarSeries Season 6 Winners

ENCE had an impressive run throughout the tournament, only dropping 3 maps- 1 to BIG in a Bo3 and 2 to Vega Squadron in a Bo5.

In the first stage, they beat TyLoo (16-6), The Imperial (16-12), and most impressively, mousesports (16-12).

This brought them to the playoffs where they faced off against BIG. Despite losing the first map, Overpass, in a 20-22 overtime loss, they came back to win Nuke (16-9) and Train (16-10).

Every member of the team stepped up, although Aerial arguably had the best performance, top-fragging on two maps and ending up with a score of 71-62 across the three maps.

They went on to face OpTic Gaming, handling them in both Mirage (16-10) and Cache (16-7). This brought them to the Grand Finals against Vega.

Vega beat teams like NRG, HellRaisers, and Fragsters to make it to the Grand Finals. The final Best-of-5 was a back-and-forth affair. Vega took Train (16-14) and Mirage (16-12).

But of course, it was ENCE who came out on top, winning Inferno (16-6), Dust 2 (16-12), and Overpass (16-9).

Although many of the bigger teams were likely exhausted from taking part in so many recent events (such as mousesports winning ESL ONE NY), it’s still a good sign for the new guard. Vega and ENCE both stepped up big time to show their potential in a $300,000 Premier LAN.

StarSeries Season 6 MVP – sergej

While the whole team had their moments, it was sergej who took home the accolade of StarSeries i-League Season 6 MVP.

At just 16 years old, sergej is one of the top upcoming players in CS:GO. He shone in the Grand finals with a 1.28 rating across 5 maps and was also one of the highest-rated players of the tournament.

Although they’ve previously won events such as the Finnish Championships 2018 and EPICENTER 2018 EU Qualifier, this is the first Premier event win for ENCE. But with a team of young talents and experienced vets, they could go a lot further than their current ranking of #18.

EZ for ENCE.
