With Piranha Plant in Smash Bros Ultimate and Joker soon to come, there are still 4 more Smash Bros Ultimate DLC characters to go. Leaks suggest Erdrick from Dragon Quest is the next Smash Ultimate DLC character, but the next three are still a mystery. One character many fans want is Devil May Cry protagonist Dante in Smash Bros Ultimate DLC. However, turns out it’s not just the fans that support his inclusion.
Creator Supports Dante in Smash Bros Ultimate DLC
Dante is the main character from the Devil May Cry series, created by Hideki Kamiya. Interestingly, Kamiya is also the creator of Bayonetta, the series featuring one of Smash Bros’ most infamous DLC characters.
The reins for the Devil May Cry series have now been taken over by Hidaki Itsuno. However, Itsuno seems supportive of Dante in Smash Bros Ultimate.
A recent report by VG247 asked Itsuno how he feels about Dante coming to Smash Bros Ultimate.
Devil May Cry has never been on a Nintendo platform. So it seems like the first thing to do would be to get Capcom to put Devil May Cry on a Nintendo platform in some way, shape or form – whatever game that might be.
Itsuno urges fans to campaign for DMC on Switch before Dante in Smash Bros Ultimate. If enough fan support is there, it’s possible he could make the roster.
Dante in Smash Bros Ultimate DLC – How Likely Is It?
A previous Tweet by Sakurai states that Nintendo has already set the first 5 DLC characters to come.
There are many leaks and rumors on who it’ll be. Popular names to come up include Erdrick, the DOOM Marine, Sylux from Metroid Prime, and Banjo Kazooie.
While Dante may not make it into the first 5 characters in the Fighters Pass, it’s possible he could be DLC in the future. Smash 4 had 7 DLC characters, and Smash Ultimate may have more after the initial phase, although this won’t be until after 2020.
A Reddit fan ballot found Dante is one of the top picks for Smash Bros Ultimate DLC. However, so far, he seems like one of the less likely options.
