Cloud 9 roster changes incoming! Golden and STYKO will stand-in for the team at the upcoming ELEAGUE Premier 2018.

The past 3 months have been plagued by roster changes for Cloud 9. After losing key players Stewie2k and Tarik, and short-lived IGL FNS, the team found themselves without a stable roster shortly before two of summer’s biggest CS:GO events.

Thankfully, two players have stepped up to fill in the roles.

Martin ‘STYKO’ Styk has been standing-in for C9 since ESL One Cologne. The Slovakian player was recently removed from mousesports in favor of Snax.

Maikil ‘Golden’ Selim will also be joining C9 as a stand-in. The former fnatic IGL found himself replaced by Xizt despite winning multiple events with the team this year.

Why the changes?

Despite winning the Boston ELEAGUE Major in January, C9’s results have dropped drastically since, failing to get past 7th in their past four events.

Jake ‘Stewie2k’ Yip left the team for SK Gaming (now mIBR) back in May. Last week, the team lost another high-impact player as tarik joined mIBR, leaving C9 with a three-man roster.

It’s been a big year overall for Cloud 9 roster changes. RUSH and tarik only joined the team last August, and the team also had a short stint with FNS filling Stewie2k’s shoes as an IGL.

What’s the full Cloud 9 ELEAGUE Roster?

Golden and STYKO will be playing alongside RUSH, Skadoodle, and autimatic in the Cloud 9 Roster for ELEAGUE CS:GO Premier 2018, starting on July 21.

The event is a week long and with little time to practice, the ragtag team will have trouble making an impact against top teams like FaZe and Astralis.

However, the Cloud 9 roster changes may have some positives. With Golden proving his chops as fnatic’s IGL, he may give C9 the tactical boost they need.
