Skadoodle will still play with the team until C9 find a new fifth member. Timothy “autimatic” Ta will be in the main AWP role. So who will the new Cloud9 player be?
C9 Skadoodle Takes Hiatus
It’s been a long, storied career for C9’s quintessential AWPer. Skadoodle has been with Cloud9 ever since early 2015 and survived through many roster changes to achieve multiple event wins- most impressively the ELEAGUE Boston Major 2018.
Skadoodle kept it short and sweet in an official statement:
I am taking a break from competitive CS:GO, I would like to thank the fans and Cloud9 for their support these past years and I wish the CS:GO team the best of luck.
In his break from professional CS, it looks like Skadoodle may turn to streaming. He’s been playing CS:GO and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 much more often on his Twitch channel, Twitch.tv/skadoodle.
New Cloud9 Player?
Cloud9 made it clear they’re on the hunt for a new player. Their recent press release states that interested players should contact the team immediately.
This makes for a very interesting opportunity for any free agents in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene. Fans speculate another NA AWPer could join the roster, such as Nifty or Wardell. Interestingly, MiBR tarik also hinted at a return.
Hmmmm from GlobalOffensive
However, with the recent move of flusha to Cloud9, anything is possible, and the team may look for a free agent overseas. Players like mixwell, Cromen, and even ScreaM would all make interesting additions to the roster.
It’s been a turbulent year for C9. Despite winning a major, they’ve dealt with constant roster changes and instability throughout the year. With the experience of flusha and a solid fifth, C9 could finally regain their former glory.
