The FACEIT Major saw Astralis become two-time CS:GO Major Winners after beat NaVi in dominant fashion. Here’s the winning moment!
The FACEIT Major victory is Astralis’ second major win, the first being ELEAGUE Major Atlanta 2017. It’s also the fourth big event win for them in 2018. Here are some facts to put the win into context.
Astralis Set Records as FACEIT Major Winners
Astralis is now one of only two organizations to win a CS:GO Major more than once. Fnatic are ahead at 3 major wins, while the core of LDLC/EnVyUs and Luminosity/SK Gaming (now MiBR) also have two major wins to their names.
The team also took home $500,000 of the $1,000,000 prize pool. Xyp9x becomes the highest earning CS:GO player of all time, with total winnings of $938,721.90. Dupreeh and dev1ce are close behind at second and third. Gla1ve also makes the top 8- an impressive feat given his relatively short tenure with the Danish core.
Astralis – Best CS:GO Team of 2018?
With equal parts tactical play, coordinated teamwork, and standout performances, Astralis assert themselves as the undisputed top team in CS:GO right now.
Astralis boast a 1.16 HLTV rating at Big Events in 2018, with NaVi close behind at 1.14. The team has now won 4 Premier Events ($250k+) this year, most notably the ELEAGUE Premier 2018 and the FACEIT Major.

Dev1ce is also one of the highest rated players of 2018 so far. With a 1.25 rating at Big Events, he stands behind NiKo (1.26) and s1mple (1.36). With plenty of trophies under his belt and 3 more months to go, he could make a case for the best player of 2018.

While dev1ce took home the MVP award, electronic and s1mple delivered astonishing performances, becoming the top two players in terms of ratings. Unfortunately for NaVi, it just wasn’t enough to beat the impactful team performance of Astralis.
